Their style is more edgy and modern compared to Travis Mathew. They have a trim fit and the polos are longer in length — which a lot of my clients LOVE! The brand is a younger and cooler version of Peter Millar. Saying that, they fit like Peter Millar. If you wear a large in Travis Mathew, you will wear a medium in Greyson because their make is larger.
You will most likely will go down a size to fit your frame better when buying this brand. If you are not sure, swing by my shop and you can try them on and find the right fit. Ladies, if you want to buy some polos for your guy, bring in a polo that fits him the best and I can help take some measurements and help you find the right size.
You can always reach out to me for help. You can call or email with questions. Happy to help you find the right sized polo. Small — Greyson Clothiers. Small — 40 inches Medium — 44 inches Large — 46 inches XLarge — 52 inches When I compared the sizes and fits in each brand, the Greyson polos fit larger.
Email: Mary QContrary. Still not sure? This is the chest measurement. Need a second opinion. Over the last months I have started to notice TM quality go down hill so have stopped buying them. Usually notice it on inside of collar where material starts fraying and even becoming discolored. This happens even though I never dry my shirts. You can get TM pretty cheap at Nordstrom Rack as well. I wear a size Large in polos for both brands and size XL for pullovers from both.
I do notice some color fading and snagging issues on some of the TM shirts. However, I also noticed some pilling issues on some of the real lightweight PM styles like their Featherweight and Dri-Release fabrics. Both are as expected playing on their brand name, in reality neither is anything special quality wise and certaintly not style wise and lastly way over priced. PM all day for me!
I currently own several PM and GFore shirts both owned by same company and very similar material quality , and I previously owned many TM shirts. The TM 77 or line, I think it might have also been called Prestige, is their best line. Soft blended material that lasts. Like many others have said, their materials the last couple years since being purchased by Callaway have changed. Not as soft. The cuts are different. I've sold most of my TM shirts except a couple from the line I referenced in the first sentence.
I'm also 5'8 and like clothes to fit tighter. It all depends on their line of clothing. I can only speak to that line. And the quality is absolutely top notch. Exact same feel. I own quite a bit of both. I prefer Peter Millar quality and prefer the material on their polos for golf. Have found that I'm still wearing Millar polos from like years ago and they look great even after plenty of rounds in the summer heat.
I wear TM more for casual wear, untucked especially given the fact the polos are shorter. TM also has really muted colors in their portfolio overall. Not bad, but it's definitely a different aesthetic.
I usually wear a large, I'm not skinny but not 'fat' either lol. Prob like 6'1, Like others have said PM runs big. I don't care for their performance material clothes. Shiny fabric is ugly and feels like garbage. I really like some of the TM shirts. Solid colors or the little patterns trees, palms, etc I'm over color block style. Just don't like it.
I like their color choices For what it's worth, I think Linksoul is the best of both worlds. Cotton blends like PM, but more my style than PM.
Is there anyway to tell that a PM shirt is the tailored fit just by looking at it. I am a big fan of ebay, poshmark, etc given you can find brand new stuff for half the price.
Problem is a classic fit large in PM is too big for me, need tailored but I cant tell if its tailored unless the style is listed or the seller specifically states it. Are the tags diff by chance? Do any of you think a medium classic fit would fit like a large tailored fit?
Or should I just ignore classic fit altogether. Ever tried Johnnie O? I find it it to be a little better PM and TM style wise and it is good quality too. Stitch has some nice offerings too, including in between sizes, but they have a much smaller catalog. If looking at pictures online it will say crown crafted on tag inside collar. If you are tired of golfing in khakis and polos, check out Travis Mathew. While they still offer that traditional combo, many styles they offer look great on the course, but off the course, no one asks if you are going golfing.
I opened the mystery box from Travis Mathew that contained pants, a polo, a belt and hat. It is a great looking combo that I wore out at night, and no one asked if I just came from the course.
